PLAYING AND PRAYING FOR A BETTER WORLD
We’re Priests, so we believe in the power of prayer, that’s a given.
We also play hockey. Charities team up to play against us, advertise and sell tickets. Young and old alike show up on game night and have a laugh together, at our expense. All proceeds from game night support our hosting charity partner.
We think prayers, hockey, smiles, laughter, and a bit more money in the right hands, makes the world a better place.
THE MIRACLE CONTINUES
The original Flying Fathers Hockey Club was founded in 1963, to raise funds for a family in need. Fr Brian McKee and former Toronto Maple Leafs cup winner turned Roman Catholic Priest, Fr Les Costello then spent the next several decades using their hockey skills and on-ice antics helping dozens of charities to raise millions of dollars.
The tragic death of Fr Les was thought to be the final chapter in the Flying Fathers story. After more than a ten year hiatus, former manager Frank Quinn made new plans. In 2017, Frank convinced Fr John Perdue to put together a new team of hockey playing Priests for a comeback game which has been the impetus behind the efforts to revive the team for what will hopefully become an annual tour.
